Why it happens
An uneven load is the simple cause. The machine tries to balance it. If it cannot, it stops the spin. LG shows UE for this. IFB shows unbL.
The belt and motor turn the drum. Overloading wears out the belt. Then the drum will not turn.
Worn carbon brushes can stop it too. These are the small blocks that carry power into the motor. We see all of these often.
The bearings are the rings the drum turns on. Worn bearings make a loud rumble. Overloading wears them out too.
Many LG front loads are Direct Drive. There is no belt. The motor turns the drum straight.
What we do on a visit
The technician finds why the drum will not turn. We test the belt, the motor and the bearings.
We tell you what failed and the repair price. Then we replace the failed part. We do not rewind motors.
Basic faults are usually fixed on the first visit. If a part has to be ordered, it usually takes 2–3 days.
